The SmartSolar MPPT Charger with VE.Can uses the latest and fastest technology to convert energy from a solar field into energy that optimally charges a battery bank.
The SmartSolar Charge Controller will recharge even a deeply discharged battery. It can operate with battery voltage as low as 0V, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or damaged.

The SmartSolar MPPT charger with VE.Can can be connected to a 150 or 250 V Voc PV array: it will automatically detect and charge a 12, 24, or 48 V battery bank with a current ranging from 70 to 100 A depending of the model.
Charging parameters are fully programmable, and they can even be set for different types of battery chemistries, such as lead acid, lithium and others.
Control your charger remotely
The SmartSolar MPPT Charger with VE.Can can be controlled and configured remotely via Bluetooth with the VictronConnect app. This makes device setup, management, and data a snap, such as battery voltage and current, PV voltage and current, and data history .
Addition of units installed in a daisy chain
The SmartSolar Charger with VE.Can is equipped with CAN bus ports. They allow communication with other SmartSolar chargers with VE.Can. Additional units are simply daisy-chained together with a single RJ45 cable between each unit.
When connected to each other, all individual SmartSolar VE.Can chargers will sync according to their charging steps. They can also send their data, through a single cable, to a GX monitoring device.
Remote monitoring and control
If the GX device is connected to the internet, the Victron Remote Management Portal (VRM) will provide access to the full power of your solar charger(s).
SmartSolar control screen
The SmartSolar VE.Can charger is equipped with a VE.Direct port like our MPPT solar chargers. This port can be intended for a simple supervision unit or to control a lamp post. The remote on/off connector can be controlled externally by a third-party device, such as a lithium battery. An optional integrated LCD/control panel transmits live data, allows configuration and system management directly from its front dial.
Advanced maximum power point detection in partial shading
If clouds appear, two or more maximum power points (MPP) may be present on the supply voltage curve. Conventional MPPTs tend to lock onto a local MPP which may not be the optimal MPP. SmartSolar's innovative algorithm will always maximize energy production by locking onto the optimal MPP.

A Smart Battery Sense sensor or BMV-712 connected battery monitor can be used to communicate battery voltage and temperature to one or more SmartSolar charge controllers.
Fully discharged battery recovery function
This feature will allow a charge cycle to begin even if the battery has been discharged to zero volts. The device will again connect to a fully discharged lithium-ion battery that has the internal disconnect feature.
